A 'Mahapanchayat' combining of 25 villages was held in Kosli town over Rewari gangrape case. The gathering has declared that no practicing lawyer will help any of the accused in the gangrape case. The ‘Mahapanchayat’ has also written to the Haryana Governor seeking strict action against accused.

The announcement comes after three people arrested in connection with Rewari gangrape case were sent to five-day police remand on Monday.

Three arrested people include prime accused- Nishu Phogat, Deen Dayal, the alleged owner of the place where the crime was committed and Dr Sanjeev who was called by main accused Nishu to the crime spot to check the victim.

In this gruesome incident, the girl was abducted and gang-raped after being drugged on Wednesday in Haryana's Narnaul area. In the FIR registered at Kanina, police have identified three accused- Pankaj, Manish, and Nishu. Pankaj is a defence personnel stationed in Rajasthan.

The Haryana Police had set up a SIT to probe the gangrape of 19-year-oldwoman from Rewari and announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of the accused.

The woman was abducted at a bus stop in Kanina town in neighbouring Mahendragarh district on Wednesday while she was on the way to a coaching class, police said.

She was then allegedly drugged and gangraped at a secluded spot. The woman was found in a room housing a tubewell for irrigation.

"Dr. Sanjeev’s involvement is proved as it was in his knowledge that the girl was held by 3 boys and she was not conscious about the things happening. He was part of the plan till the end and he didn’t inform any authority," Nuh SP Naazneen Bhasin, who heads the special investigation team (SIT), said on Sunday.

When asked about the arrest of the army personnel, one of the main accused, in the case, Bhasin said he is absconding but will be arrested soon.

Police had Saturday released photographs and names of the accused, who have been identified as Army jawan Pankaj, Manish and Nishu.

The accused live in the same village in Rewari and they knew the woman and her family, police said.

Lt Gen Cherish Mathson, who heads the South Western Command of the Army, had said in Jaipur Saturday that they would help the police in the probe.

The victim's father has said 8 or 10 men may have raped her but she could identify only three of them.
