While the postmortem of 14 deceased CRPF personnel was going in a government hospital, their blood-stained uniforms and shoes were dumped in dustbin, sparking outrage. Earlier, Tamradhwaj Sahu and K C Venugopal, both of Congress, expressed concern over the incident.

Sahu said it was an "insult to their martyrdom" and demanded explanation from the government. The CRPF personnel, including two officers, were killed on December 1 in a Naxal attack in the Chintagufa region of South Bastar's Sukma district.
