Environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal today said environmental degradation had reached an alarming level, and religious leaders should work for keeping it clean and green.

Religious leaders should lead by action and their participation should not remain confined just to sermons in this regard, he said at the Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen.

Seechewal emphasised that as religious leaders hold sway on the minds of the people and environmental degradation had reached an alarming level, they should lead by example by working for keeping the environment clean and green.
