Even as he expressed satisfaction on the encounter of the men who allegedly raped and killed his daughter, the father of Hyderabad veterinarian said he is still not sure if he should allow his second daughter out for work.

Cyberabad Police on Friday killed all the four accused in the gangrape and murder of a Hyderbad-based veterinary doctor.

Speaking to Zee Media at his residence, the father of the rape victim said that he was clueless how his family will cope with the reality of not seeing her in future.

He, however, expressed his relief that the men behind the crime have been killed and justice has been delivered.

But he pointed out that many rape victims were still fighting for justice. He said that his wife was still in shock following the tragedy.

"My daughter will not come back now, but my message for the people is that the entire country should stand with families that go through the same," he said.

The 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by four men on November 26. They later set her on fire and dumped her body in Chatanpally, Shadnagar, around 60 km from Hyderabad. Her charred body was recovered a day later by the police, following which the police launched the manhunt and arrested the four accused.

On Friday, the police took the four accused the scene of the crime for reconstruction as part of the investigation. The Cyberabad Police Commissioner said the accused snatched their weapons and fired on police and hence, in self-defence, the police fired back, in which the accused were killed.

"The four accused had been in police custody for 10 days. We had interrogated all of them. When they confessed to the crime, we took them to the site where the incident occurred to reconstruct the scene. When we reached the spot, the accused managed to snatch our guns and attacked us. You can see that the accused are still lying there with the weapons. As a result, we had to engage in an encounter with them in which they were shot dead," Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said during a press conference.

The family of the victim hailed Telangana Police after the encounter and said their daughter's soul must be at peace now.

Local residents garlanded the cops and distributed sweets.

Later in the evening, a candle march near the residence of the woman was also held where people raised slogans praising the police.
