Sources said Rajnath Singh also asked Kejriwal to stop using arm twisting techniques and give up confrontational attitude of writing terse letters on every issue if he wants amiable relations with the Centre and the LG and run the government.
In the hour long meeting, the duo had demanded that being an elected government they should be allowed to function smoothly which they are unable to do because of an aggressive Lieutenant Governor in Najeeb Jung.
The home minister told Kejriwal to resolve all issues with the Centre and the LG amicably through cooperation as government in Delhi can function only through rules, regulations and cooperation and such situation will work in everybody’s favour, home ministry sources said.
“There was no concrete outcome of the meeting besides the fact that Delhi CM was clearly told that the breakthrough to the jinx relationship can come only through their quarters as they have created such a situation,” said an official.
Sisodia also conceded that they raised all issues concerning Delhi but there was no outcome.
The tussle between AAP run Delhi government and BJP ruled Central government had started soon after the former locked horns with the LG on the appointment of senior IAS officer Shakuntala Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary.
Later it enveloped Delhi’s ACB also with Centre issuing a notification and reducing its areas of operation to Delhi government officials only.
Last week, Delhi’s AAP government had reasserted itself furthermore by effecting a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving as many as 25 senior officials.
