A woman who has accused Congress leader Rohit Tilak, the great-grandson of Bal Gangadhar Tilak of raping her, has complained to the police that two men have threatened to throw acid on her if she does not withdraw the case.

The 41-year-old woman lawyer had last week accused Tilak of repeatedly raping and committing 'unnatural acts' with her on the promise of marrying her, leading the police to register a case against Tilak on July 17. Tilak is on an interim anticipatory bail till July 28.

The woman approached the Pune police after she was allegedly threatened yesterday and sought protection, fearing "grave danger" to her life and limbs.

In a complaint to the Vishrambaug police station, she claimed two unidentified motorcycle-borne men accosted her near Bavdhan on Monday morning when she and her friend were going in a car.

"The person riding pillion, showed a bottle containing some yellow liquid and threatened her that they would throw acid on her face if she did not withdraw the case against Tilak," she said in her complaint.
