The boy, identified as Indrajit Ravidas from Bisai Bigha village, was killed in October, he told reporters here while alleging that no action was taken against the owner of the brick kiln because he was an activist of the ruling JD(U).

"Chief minister Nitish Kumar covered up the incident and shielded the perpetrators of the crime," he claimed.

He demanded that the state government should constitute a judicial probe by a sitting judge of the Patna high court into the incident.

Paswan also sought an ex-gratia payment of Rs10 lakh for the bereaved family.

The LJP leader also demanded a similar inquiry to the death of four children who died after eating chappatis, apparently mixed with chemicals in Samastipur district late last night.
