Ramjas Ruckus: Chetan Bhagat stands up for Gurmehar Kaur; adds Sehwag and Hooda entitled to their opinion
The author, who is usually trolled on social media, said that everyone, including Sehwag and Hooda have the right to express their opinions
Author Chetan Bhagat is usually Twitter's favourite punching bag. Every time he tweets, there are high chances that someone will come and troll him.
On Tuesday, the actor took to social media to voice his opinion on Gurmehar Kaur and how social media has attacked her.
Kaur, who is all of 20 years old, admitted that she was tired with all the hate message and rape threats.
To which she received a sympathetic message from Bhagat
Bhagat, who has always been vocal about political loyalties, also published a series of tweets on his definition of nationalism
This is when a user questioned why people, who were 'anti-national' weren't punished. Drawing parallels between democracy and parenthood, the user suggested that like when parents punish children when they are in the wrong, a democracy should punish those who don't show loyalty to the nation.
The author, whose book Half Girlfriend is getting set to be adapted into a movie, also said that both Virender Sehwag and Randeep Hooda, who have been criticised for their tweets that allegedly poked fun at Kaur, said that both celebrities were entitled to their opinions.
Someone then put out a tweet saying that for standing up for Kaur, Bhagat, who has always been branded a conservative, has now been branded a liberal for standing up for Kaur.
