It consists of the Assembly segments - Aranthangi, Tiruchuli, Paramakudi (SC), Tiruvadanai, Ramanathapuram and Mudukulathur.
AIADMK’s Anwhar Rajhaa was the sitting MP and he beat Mohamed Jaleel S of DMK in 2014.
In 2009, DMK’s Shivakumar beat AIADMK’s V Sathiamoorth.
In 2019, BJP’s Nainar Nagendran will faceoff against Congress-DMK alliance’s K Navas Kani who is the Indian Union Muslim League candidate.

There’s an interesting battle on the cards with an AIADMK-led NDA alliance with the BJP, PMK, DMDK, Puthiya Neethi Katchi and Puthiya Tamizhagam. Meanwhile, Congress has forged alliances with DMK, two communist parties and other regional parties. Smaller partners include VCK, IUML and KMK.
The AIADMK under Jayalalithaa had managed to win 37 seats, with BJP and PMK getting 1 each. The Congress and the DMK ended up with zero seats in 2014.
