Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has alleged that his car was attacked in Rajasthan's Alwar on Friday. The reports suggest the windows of Tikait's car were scattered in the attack.

The incident reportedly took place in the Tatarpur village of Rajasthan's Alwar district. Rakesh Tikait's convoy was on its way to Bansur from Harsora village of Alwar after addressing a gathering when it was allegedly attacked.

The information was shared by Tikait himself on Twitter. The farmer leader tweeted, "Attacked by BJP goons at Tatarpur intersection of Alwar district of Rajasthan, Bansur Road. Death of democracy."

After the incident, protesting farmers reportedly blocked the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh Ghazipur border in protest against the alleged attack on Tikait's convoy. Rakesh Tikait's supporters blocked National Highway 9. Later traffic was restored after police intervention.

Rakesh Tikait is at the forefront of the more than four-month-long farmers' agitation going on at the Delhi-Ghazipur border, against the three farm laws passed by the Centre last year.

Last week, Tikait said that the agitating farmers were prepared for a long haul and will relent only when their demands are met. Tikait reiterated that the Centre must withdraw the farm laws and provide a legal guarantee on MSP.

He said the farm laws were not only adversely affecting the farmers but will impact other sections as well. Anyone helping farmers in their agitation is facing harassment from government agencies, he alleged.
