On Tuesday, Twitter users were left in awe after senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai made a startling claim about his former colleague and current Republic editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami. An undated video had Arnab Goswami speaking to an audience about the Gujarat riots. In the video, which has now been taken down from YouTube shows, Goswami claiming that his entourage was attacked by rioters near the Gujarat CM’s house.

Taking to Twitter, Rajdeep Sardesai said that 'fekugiri has its limit' claiming that Arnab Goswami wasn’t even covering the riots from the ground. He wrote on Twitter: "Wow! My friend Arnab claims his car attacked next to CM Res in Guj riots! Truth:he wasn't covering Ahmedabad riots!! Sardesai then tweeted the link again and said, "Fekugiri has its limits, but seeing this, I feel sorry for my profession."

Three other senior journalists Maya Mirchandani, Nalin Mehta and Sanjeev Singh also backed Rajdeep’s claims. Goswami hasn’t said anything about Rajdeep's allegation. 

Interestingly, Rajdeep Sardesai in his book '2014: The election that changed India" has described a similar incident very vividly when he had a narrow brush with rioters during 2002 post- Godhra carnage.  

However, Twitter had a field day at Goswami's event, placing him in various historical events and trending it with the hash tag #ArnabDidIt. Here are some of the tweets:
