Rajasthan shocker: Tribal woman beaten, stripped and paraded naked by husband, in-laws

Rajasthan shocker: A 21-year-old woman in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh area was allegedly publicly beaten and undressed by her husband and others in his family. The police were called after a video of the incident became viral. 

The alleged incident happened on Monday. The woman, who married a year ago, was assaulted by her husband and in-laws who claimed she had run off with a neighbour.

The woman was allegedly stripped off and paraded naked through the community in addition to being beaten.

Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister, noted the occurrence in a tweet on Friday night and declared that such criminals had no place in a civilized society. According to him, the offender will be apprehended quickly and punished after being tried in a fast-track court, while the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that “Rajasthan is again ashamed”.

Six police teams have been organized to investigate the case after a FIR was filed.

The woman was in a relationship with another man, according to Dhariyawad SHO Peshawar Khan, who also noted that the incident happened on Thursday.

Umesh Mishra, director general of police (DGP), claimed that she was abducted by her in-laws and taken to their hamlet, where the atrocity occurred. He said that she was staying with another man, which annoyed her in-laws.

Sharing the video on X, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya said, “A barbaric incident of stripping and thrashing a woman has come to light in Dhariyavad, a tribal-dominated area of ​​Rajasthan. Two days have passed but till now the administration, government and police are not even aware. Ashok Gehlot is sleeping and Rahul Gandhi is in Mumbai. The group doing politics on women harassment is also silent.”
