We’re looking forward to lay the foundation stone of Barmer Refinery. @HPCL & Rajasthan Govt have worked out the details, says Dharmendra Pradhan
The refinery dream in Rajasthan will now soon become a reality. The formailities for the foundation laying ceremony of a refinery are being worked out and a formal request letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this ceremony will be sent soon.
Sources informed that after Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje held the meeting with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, things are moving faster, keeping an eye on September to conduct the foundation stone laying ceremony.
After the meeting Pradhan tweeted, "We are looking forward to lay the foundation stone of Barmer Refinery. Recently @HPCL & Rajasthan Govt have worked out the details on this."
Officials from department of mines and petroleum are, however, tight-lipped about the exact date of the event, but indicate that it will be soon.
"We are prepared from our end , modailties with the ministry of petroleum are being worked out," said a source having knowledge of the development .
This development is quite a big news in the state as while the project got enviornment clerance from the ministry of enviornment two years ago, the work was put on hold and can now finally begin. Though a formal clerance will be received in coming days, the ball has now started rolling with the in-principal approval.
Sources informed that the industries department has allotted 4,563 acres of land in Pachpadra to the Rajasthan HPCL limited. The lease deed draft is set to be finalised by September 10 by the district collect of Barmer.
CM Raje also met Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha. Raje discussed linking tourism cities — Sawai Madhopur, Kishangarh (Ajmer), Sriganganagar and Jaisalmer — through the intrastate air service. He also urged Sinha for extension of Kota-Jaipur intrastate service will Delhi.
