Rajasthan Mayor, who went missing from Mumbai, found in Bengaluru after 4 days

After four days of search involving governments of two states, the 'missing' mayor of Pratapgarh city of Rajasthan was found in injured condition at Bengaluru. Mayor Kamlesh Dosi had severe injuries on his head and body and had been unconscious for the last four days.

The search for 45-year-old Dosi, the second time mayor of Pratapgarh, had spanned from Rajasthan to Maharashtra. Rajasthan government had contacted Mumbai police to seek help in finding Dosi as he went from missing from Mumbai.

Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi and UDH Minister of Rajasthan Shrichand Kriplani had reached Mumbai to expedite the search. While Joshi met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Kriplani met Mumbai DGP to seek help.

Doshi had reached Mumbai on May 16 and was supposed to catch a train to Burhanpur for a religious trip. "Mumbai police traced his last location to Kurla station before his mobile went off the radar. Mumbai police scanned CCTV cameras around the hotel where he stayed and questioned the taxi driver who had dropped him to the station," said CP Joshi while speaking to DNA from Mumbai.

Footage showed Dosi getting on the train on May 17.

While Mumbai police searched for Dosi, a call reached his relative Dilip Mandavat in Pratapgarh. It was a weak sounding Dosi calling from a hospital in Bangalore. He had gained consciousness on Monday. The family informed BJP leaders camping in Mumbai about the development. Immediately businessmen from Chittorgarh who were living in Bangalore were rushed to the hospital by Joshi.

His family heaved a sigh of relief and celebrations began at his home. "It is a relief to hear his voice. We want to thank God and our well wishers that he is safe," said Shantilal Dosi, the mayor's uncle.

They found Dosi with injuries on the head and body. All his belongings except for his Aadhaar card had been looted. Dosi was not in a condition to recall the sequence of events. But prima facie it appears that Dosi had been drugged and looted.

Doshi is being taken to Ahmedabad by flight and from there he will be taken to Pratapgarh by road. He is expected to reach his home late in the night.
