Rajasthan government on November 21 announced a night curfew in eight districts to check the rising number of Covid-19 cases. These eight districts include Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, Udaipur, Alwar, Ajmer and Bhilwara.

Rajasthan curfew timings

Markets, restaurants, commercial shops, etc shall close by 7 pm and a curfew will be imposed in these cities from 8 pm to 6 am.

However, emergency services such as medical shops, railway and air travellers will be exempted.

A cabinet meeting was called to review the increasing cases of Covid-19 in the state in wake of winters approaching and ongoing marriage season which was chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

New restrictions by Rajasthan govt

It was decided in the meeting that those not wearing masks will now be penalised with Rs 500 which was earlier fixed at Rs 200.

A maximum of 75% employees will be called for duty in government and private offices in these districts where the number of employees is 100 or more. The staff will work on a rotation basis.

In marriages, religious, social, cultural functions and political events, only 100 people will be allowed.

The cabinet also decided that daycare treatment facilities in private hospitals will be available at a rate fixed by the state government.

Under this facility, critical COVID-19 patients will be sent back home in 2-3 hours after being given medication and treatment. It will also ease the availability of beds in hospitals.

It was informed in the meeting that hospitals attached with private medical colleges can now be acquired for making them dedicated COVID facilities if required.

Also, the medical and health department will conduct door-to-door surveys in areas reporting a high number of cases.

A total of 3,007 Covid-19 cases were registered on Saturday which is a record high in Rajasthan. Since the start of November month, the covid numbers are on a constant high and have crossed the 2,000-mark benchmark.
