Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda on Monday said the state government has been contemplating to bring about an ordinance to make 'water harvesting' mandatory in the state.
Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda on Monday said the state government has been contemplating to bring about an ordinance to make "water harvesting" mandatory in the state.
"We are planning to move an ordinance to make water harvesting mandatory in Jharkhand," Munda said here in a press conference.
He said the process of framing the ordinance was on and it will be made compulsory to conserve rain water in each houses particularly the commercial and multi-story buildings.
The underground water level was depleting fast in the urban areas in the lack of proper water management, Munda said adding that the state government has also appealed the forest department to identify lands that would accumulate maximum
water during monsoon.
