MUMBAI: Incessant rains since Wednesday morning on the Konkan Railway route disrupted the services on the sector with most of the Mumbai-bound trains running 4-6 hours behind schedule.

A Konkan Railway (KR) release issued here on Wednesday said the Ratnagiri region received as much as 614 mm rainfall in the past 24 hrs, which resulted in the flooding of tracks at five sites over the KR route between Sangameshwar and Kankavali. Water had touched the danger level at one of the bridges near Ratnagiri, the release said.

Due to this, some trains have been regulated to ensure safety of the passengers, the release added.
