Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad for various events on Monday, will spend eight more days in the state in September and October.
With the state elections approaching, political activities in the state are picking up. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Gujarat almost every month since January, and is likely to be here in mid-September, Opposition Congress is also trying to reach out to voters.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad for various events on Monday, will spend eight more days in the state in September and October.
Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said that Rahul Gandhi will spend two days each in North Gujarat, Saurashtra, Central Gujarat, and South Gujarat.
"Rahul Gandhi will commence his yatra from Dwarka on the 22nd, and cover different parts of Saurashtra and North Gujarat over the next four days. On the remaining four days, he will visit Central and South Gujarat. The name of the yatra, the exact route, and other details are being worked out," Solanki said.
He also said that issues such as pitiable condition of farmers, rising unemployment, and rampant corruption will feature in the concerns the Congress scion will raise during his yatra.
Talking about the Congress Vice-President's visit to Ahmedabad on September 4, Solanki said that Rahul Gandhi will meet party leaders and selected workers, besides holding a 'Samvad' with NGOs, and other professionals.
