Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi paid a surprise visit to a Dalit household in Medhki village in Mauranipur area of the district and took feed back on MGNREGA and other schemes from Bhadarwara villagers.Gandhi made an unscheduled visit to Medhki late last night and enquired about the problems relating to water, power and fertilisers from the villagers.Rahul spent some time with a Dalit family in the area and during a 'chaupal' (meeting), told the locals about the central government's schemes, Congress sources said.Gandhi had his dinner of puri-subzi prepared by Arti, daughter-in-law of Kunnjilal, a Dalit. He later left the area after distributing toffees among the children.Earlier in the day, to feel the pulse of youths in the economically backward region of Bundelkhand during a camp organised by the Youth Congress in Jhansi, Gandhi had a detailed interaction for around two and a half hours with the youths on various important issues during Yuva Drishti training camp of the youth wing.Rahul visited Bhadarwara village this morning and took feed back on MGNREGA and other schemes from the villagers.No senior Congress leader or party functionary accompanied Rahul on his mass contact programme in the district.

Rahul later toured at least four villages in neighbouring Hamirpur district taking feedback from the people about MGNREGS and other central schemes.Arriving from Jhansi, he visited Ainjhi and Jakheri villages on the Rath-Hamirpur road, about 57 km from the district headquarters, besides some other villages and talked to locals, Congress sources said.He enquired about Centre's Bundelkhand package, the role of officials and gram pradhans and other related problems.
