Rahasya will be screened for a family member of Talwars, advocate

The producers of yet to be released movie Rahasya, which is allegedly based on Aarushi murder case, have agreed to screen the movie for one of the family members and one advocate.

Nupur and Rajesh Talwar, who have been convicted for murdering their teenage daughter Aarushi, had moved the Bombay High Court seeking a stay on the release of the movie on the grounds that the film is based on "distorted facts surrounding the gruesome death" of their daughter Aarushi.

Talwars are undergoing life sentence awarded to them by sessions court at Ghaziabad and their appeal is pending before the Allahabad High Court. They had sought that the producers organise a private screening of the movie for a family member before the release.

Advocate Atul Damle, counsel appearing for director Manish Gupta and producer UVI Films Production Ltd, told the court that the film would be screened for one member of the Talwar family and one of their advocates on the condition that they would not disclose the details of the movie.

The film would be screened within two weeks, Damle said. He, however, said that the persons who view the screening should not disclose the climax to anyone else.

A division bench of Justices VM Kanade and Anil Menon have kept the petition for hearing after three weeks. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had earlier informed the court that the movie is based on fiction and bears no resemblance to the case of Nupur and Rajesh Talwar.

On the intervening night of May 15 and 16, 2008, Aarushi and their house help Hemraj were found murdered at the Talwar residence in Noida.
