Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the eight under the section of 147 (unlawful assembly), 294 B (beating with weapons) and 324 (using abusing language) and also under Tamil Nadu Prevention of Ragging Act. To prevent any untoward incident, adequate number of police have been deployed near the college, they said.
