Industrialist Anil Ambani on Friday hit out at Congress party after the Supreme court dismissed petitions seeking court-monitored probe into India's multi-billion dollar Rafale fighter jet deal with France, and said that he is committed to India's national security.
"I welcome the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court today, summarily dismissing all PILs filed on the Rafale contracts and conclusively establishing the complete falsity of the wild, baseless and politically-motivated allegations levelled against Reliance Group and me personally," said Anil Ambani in a statement.
Ambani also said that the group remains committed to India's national security. "Making our humble contribution towards the 'Make in India' and 'Skill India' policies of the Government in the critical area of defence, including our offset partnership agreement with our valued partner, Dassault Aviation of France,"
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Anand Sharma said that there is no reason for Prime Minister and BJP government to celebrate Supreme Court order which in itself is contradictory.
Honorable SC has said it won't be proper for it to go into details," he said.
The Supreme Court gave a clean chit to the Narendra Modi government on the procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets from France and said there was no occasion to doubt the decision-making process in the multi-billion dollar Rafale deal.
The bench said it does not find substantial matter to interfere with the issue of procurement, pricing and offset partner.
