SRINAGAR: A major earthquake shook Srinagar and adjoining areas in the wee hours on Sunday but there was no report of any casualty or damage to property.
      
The tremor of 6.4 magnitude occurred at 1.53 AM, waking up residents who were fast asleep as doors and windows of the buildings rattled under its impact.
      
There was no immediate report of any casualty or danage to property, officials said
      
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Hindukush region on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border with latitude 36.5 north and longtitude of 70.8 East.
