Navjot Kaur Sidhu, BJP MLA and Parliamentary Secretary, on Saturday attacked the party's ally Shiromani Akali Dal was involved in the current drug menace in the state.

Navjot was quoted by Hindustan Times as, "The problem of drugs is so severe in Punjab that some leaders are using their official, red-beacon vehicles to supply drugs. These red beacons have been allotted by deputy CM Sukhbir Badal to every Tom, Dick and Harry.”

In the same report, she further is quoted as saying that 'Udta Punjab' shows the reality of Punjab. Further adding, "It’s always the government running a state that’s responsible for all situations.”

Sidhu's statemnets have reportedly not gone down well with BJP leaders who are demanding an action against her. Punjab BJP Chief Vijay Sampla reportedly said that statements made against their own government were 'derailing the agenda of the government'.
