More than 30 CRPF personnel have been martyred and several others injured in terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on Thursday evening. Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for this cowardice attack. The attack took place when an SUV car (Mahendra Scorpio) loaded with 350 kg explosives blew up near one of the 70 buses of an army convoy which was travelling from Jammu to Srinagar. There were around 39 CRPF soldiers in the bus which was targeted by the terrorists.

Condemning the attack, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala termed it a cowardice act and extended his condolences to the kin of the jawans who were martyred. However, Surjewala did not leave the opportunity to slam Prime Minister Narendra Modi government and said that this was the 18th big terror attack in the last 5 years under this Modi government and asked when will the 56-inch chest reply?

However, it seems that Surjewala hitting out at the Centre did not go down well with the tweeple as people hit back at the Congress party for using the terror attack as an opportunity to score political points. Soon after Surjewala's comment indirectly targeting when PM Modi will reply, people on micro-blogging site Twitter criticised the Congress spokesperson saying that it was not an appropriate time to do politics.

A random Twitter user hit out at Surjewala following his 56-inch chest remark and said that it was a dirty statement while another user named Ram said, "don't worry. 56-inch will give a befitting reply. Don't act like Pakistan agent."

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh is meeting National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and monitoring the security situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the attack saying that martyrs sacrifice won't go in vain and also discussed security situation with Ajit Doval.

In wake of the terror attack, Congress General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh east leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has cancelled her scheduled press conference. Calling off her media briefing, Priyanka Gandhi said that she doesn't think it was appropriate time to talk politics. However, people on social media continued to slam Surjewala for using this unfortunate incident to score political points. Take a look at some reactions here.
