Rise in population coupled with the increase in vehicles and density of traffic prompted the government to revisit the infrastructure facilities, he said.

He was speaking after inaugurating a Road Over Bride on the 100 Feet Road here, built at a cost of Rs 35.72 crore.

The project was sanctioned by the Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry.

The Chief Minister said a similar road over bridge was now being developed at the Arumpathapuram level crossing in Puducherry-Villupuram route.
