"Exodus of Hindus from Kairana is a result of pseudo-secularism and appeasement policies pursued by different governments in UP...Because of this, the population of Hindus which was 68 per cent has come down to 8 per cent," he alleged. The Gorakhpur MP was talking to media persons on the sidelines of a programme here.

On his name being mentioned as BJP's chief ministerial candidate in the state, he said he was not in the race for any post but was working as a mission. Asked about the Ram mandir issue, he said it was a matter of faith for all Hindus.
