The National Student Union of India (NSUI) activists on Wednesday staged a protest at Arihant College and demanded the management to produce the documents pertaining to the affiliation status of the two years management programme in hospital management.Students who had alleged that the college was fraudulently operating the course since the last two years demanded the college officials to come out clean with the documents, threatening to approach the police if the management fails to do the same."Since the university could not furnish the requisite documents, we demanded the college to show us the papers and validate its authenticity," claimed NSUI activist Vikas Nandwana. However, the officials could not produce the requisite documents to the protesting students.Arihant College officials could not be contacted over the issue.University officials had earlier said that it is unlikely that the college is unlawfully operating the course since the same course is available at DAVV's IMS."In 2009, a private college of the city had enrolled students for M. Sc in genetic engineering programme for which too there was no ordinance available and the students were transferred to the university's biotechnology department," claimed Vikas. The course was launched in 2012 and presently caters to two batches, each with 60 students, claimed sources.NSUI activists had reported the matter to DAVV vice-chancellor DP Singh last week who informed that a faculty committee will review the status of the programme this week."He said that a committee will look into the matter in the next two days, Vikas claimed.
