NEW DELHI: The President and Prime Minister on Saturday greeted the nation on the eve of Dussehra, noting that the festival is an occasion to foster goodness within and to radiate peace and harmony.
    
In her message, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil said, "may peace, goodwill and prosperity abound in the country and may we all work for the unity and well being of our nation".
    
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the festival which signifies triumph of good over evil, is an occasion to foster goodness within and to radiate peace and harmony.
    
Greeting countrymen on the occasion, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said, "may this beautiful festival, which celebrates the triumph of truth and righteousness, usher in goodwill, tolerance and understanding among all our people, and peace and prosperity and progress throughout the country".
