Maharashtra Chief Miniser Devendra Fadnavis on Friday joined the locals in Nagpur in celebrating Ram Navami and the golden jubilee of the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra (procession), taken out on the occasion, from Poddareshwar Ram Mandir in Nagpur.

Fadnavis, who hails from this city, also performed puja at the temple. Speaking to ANI, Fadnavis said, "I have prayed to Lord Ram for good rain this year as our farmers are in distress."

Colourful floats depicting scenes from mythology took part in the procession which wound its way through the main streets of the city before returning to the temple.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Energy Minister and District Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Mayor Praveen Datke.
