The CBI is likely to register a fresh case into the irregularities in allocations of spectrum during late Pramod Mahajan’s tenure as telecom minister in the BJP-led NDA government. A top CBI official said a probe is on as part of the preliminary enquiry registered to investigate allocations of spectrum to telecom companies between 2001-2007.
Pramod Mahajan was the telecom minister between 2001-2003. CBI has already said the agency would also examine former finance minister Jaswant Singh as he was heading the GoM on the issue of limited mobility during the relevant period.
