Punam Rao Mahajan, daughter of late BJP leader Promod Mahajan, on Tuesday said that the Asom Gana Parishad-BJP seat sharing agreement for the Lok Sabha polls, was her father's dream come true.

"A week before he was shot, my father visited Assam and dreamt of an alliance with the AGP which has come true," Punam on an election tour to the state said here.

"He had tremendous love and affection for the people of the state. I have been showered with affection during my first visit here," Punam, who flagged off a cycle rally of the BJP here said.

Stating that the large-scale infiltration from Bangladesh was the biggest threat to Assam, she criticised the Congress
government in the state and the Centre for doing 'little' to solve the problem.

The BJP leader also voiced concern at the growing acts of crime against women in the state and claimed that 40 per cent of these were committed by suspected infiltrators from Bangladesh.
