Uttar Pradesh BJP President Laxmikant Bajpai on Saturday said the current state of law and order in Uttar Pradesh is the result of the Samajwadi Party's failure.

Laxmikant Bajpai told ANI, "Mulayam Singh Yadav has won the elections on the plank that the law and order situation will be see an improvement in the state, and now he is citing a population of 21 crores as unmanageable. A soldier cannot be put behind each individual. It is all about how the government works and manages its responsibilities."

"After Badayun rape case, 203 more rape cases have taken place. I have all the records of names and places. I have written it down. After such a number, if a statement like this comes out from the head of the party and the government, it is proof of complete failure. The only solution is either improving the situation or to quit the ruling seat," he added.

Commenting on the party's working Bajpai said, "The party is full of criminal-minded people. Expecting something good from such government is of no use."

Amidst widespread condemnation of rising crimes against women in Uttar Pradesh (UP), Samajawadi Party (SP) Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said, "The population is so high. UP has a population of 21 crores. If there is least amount of rapes in this country, they are in Uttar Pradesh. Every crime cannot be checked in the state."
