AHMEDABAD: Police fired five rounds to control communal clashes in Ankleshwar town of Bharuch
district, officials said on Saturday.
    
The incident happend late last night after a fight between youths belonging to different communities in Gopal Bazarr Chowk area of the town, police said.
    
The two groups indulged in stone pelting during the clash, they said, adding that when police reached the spot fierce stone pelting was going on.
    
Police first tried to bring the situation under control by lathicharge and firing of teargas shells.
    
Later, they fired five rounds from 303 rifles, they added.
    
Five people injured in the calshes were admitted a local hospital in Anklewshar.
    
The situation has been brought under control early Saturday  morning, police added.
