A 45-year-old man who had made it his profession to steal mobile phones for a living was nabbed by the Vejalpur police. Peeyush Chauhan was arrested by the Vejalpur police and they also recovered 11 mobile phones from him.Sources said that Chauhan is a nomad who earlier worked as a tailor. He took to thieving after he failed to make ends meet with his work as a tailor. Vejalpur police station officials have transferred the case to Ellisbridge police. Police inspector of Vejalpur police station, MC Patel told DNA that Chauhan is a nomad. "He moves base constantly. Whenever he found a mobile phone lying unattended in a car or somewhere else he would steal it," said Patel.

Sources said Chauhan eluded the police for long as he moved from one place to another. Sources said that Chauhan would often conduct a recce of a location before stealing phones from there. Patel said that one of the mobile phones recovered from Chauhan was stolen from Ellisbridge and so the case was transferred to the Ellisbridge police station for further investigation.
