Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ludhiana on October 18 to give awards to industry representatives of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, said Punjab BJP Chief Vijay Sampla in Ludhiana on Sunday.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to Ludhiana on October 18 to give awards to MSME industrialists," Sampla told reporters on Sunday evening. He said that the state BJP had also requested Prime Minister to hold a rally on October 18.

"We have made request with PM to hold a rally when he visits Ludhiana. If PM gives his time, then we are ready to organise a big rally," informed Sampla.

Punjab BJP Chief who is also a union minister further informed that the party has also planned to hold four rallies for Scheduled Castes (SC), farmers, women and youth between November and December in the wake of coming state assembly polls.

"We shall invite BJP President Amit Shah, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Thawar Chand Geholt and other senior leaders of the party to participate in our proposed rallies in Punjab," said Sampla after concluding a day-long state executive of Punjab BJP here.

Punjab has proposed to hold farmers rally in Fazilka, SC rally in Jalandhar, Mahila (women) rally in Patiala and youth rally in Amritsar. He further said that a 'Yatra' will also be taken out in Punjab which will have its impact on all 117 assembly seats.

Sampla said that he had met Modi and Rajnath Singh yesterday and requested them to allow farmers living near border areas to harvest ripened paddy crop so that they do not face any problem."It is not easy to leave homes. We have asked our party workers to help those people who are living in border districts," he said.
