PM Modi in Gujarat: Here's the schedule for his 69th birthday

September 17 marks the 69th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who as announced earlier, will spend the day in his home state Gujarat. For the premier of the world's largest democracy, the day remains chock-full of events.

The Prime Minister reached the Ahmedabad airport at 11 PM on September 16, where he was received by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Governor Acharya Devvrat. From here he is scheduled to proceed directly towards Raj Bhawan, the governor's official residence where will spend the night.

On getting some rest, PM Modi will begin the day by visiting his mother, Heeraben Modi, and taking her blessings. After this, according to the predetermined schedule, he will be leaving for the Kevadiya town in the Narmada district at 8 AM, to offer prayers to the Narmada Devi at the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

He would perform Narmada Aarti to river Narmada and take part in 'Namami Devi Narmade Mahotsav'.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had earlier invited the Prime Minister to attend the 'Namami Devi Narmade Mahotsav' in Gujarat on his birthday on September 17, which Modi had accepted. The Mahotsav is being celebrated across the state with over 5000 events to mark the filling up of the SSD to its full capacity of 138.68 metres.

The Prime Minister is then scheduled to meet top officials of a Jungle Safari and Tourist park constructed near the dam to boost tourism in the Narmada district. Later in the day, he will address a public meeting in the district, to mark his birthday.

PM Modi will also visit the Garudeshwar Dutt Mandir in Kevadiya and offer his prayers, which wraps up his visit. After this, the Prime Minister will depart for New Delhi.
