Prime minister Manmohan Singh today left for Delhi after a two-day visit to flood affected areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Singh who arrived here on October 9, took an aerial view of the flood affected areas of Krishna and Vijayawada and announced an immediate relief package of Rs1,000crore to Andhra Pradesh.

The prime minister made an aerial survey of the flood affected areas of Kurnool and Mahaboobnagar districts today before leaving for Delhi from Old Begumpet Airport.

Singh before leaving for Delhi today also made an aerial survey of Raichur in Karnataka which is also affected by flash floods.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah and his cabinet colleagues were present at the Begumpet Airport.
