The Madras High Court on Wednesday closed a PIL against too many and unauthorised speed breakers in 72 Km stretch between Karur and Dindigul, after the Highways Department submitted that the speed breakers had been built as per norms.

A division bench comprising Justice V Dhanapalan and V M Velumani,directed the petitioner T Vasu to approach concerned officials if he had any other grievance.

The Divisional Engineer submitted that the road was in good condition and even pot holes had been patched up.

There were no unauthorised speed breakers as claimed by the petitioner and all they had been constructed as per standard norms near educational institutes, hospitals, important junctions and necessarry places.

The speed breakers were also maintained properly, he submitted.
