Pictures: Noida authority using drones to spray disinfectants

Ramping up efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in city, the Noida authority on Thursday conducted a sanitisation drive in which it used drones to spray disinfectant across the region.

Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida Authority, provided more information about the drive and urged the residents to stay inside their homes.

“The Noida Authority is conducting sanitisation drive across Noida, especially in the sealed areas. Also, drones are being used for spraying disinfectant. I want to appeal to all to stay at home and do not panic," she said.

On Wednesday, Additional Chief Secretary of UP Government, Awanish Awasthi had said that emergency vehicles and, if needed, drones would be used to monitor the areas, and no outsiders would be allowed to enter them.


The Noida Authority has also set up a disinfectant tunnel at its office in Sector 6, to make sure that anyone entering the premises is sanitised. People who come to the office are asked to wash their hands and walk through the tunnel.

Yesterday, the Uttar Pradesh government announced a complete seal off in parts of 15 districts, including Noida, to contain the coronavirus. Essential services will also be closed in the regions and all the necessary items will be delivered to homes by government authorised personnel
