Pet dog catches man who tried to flee after raping mentally-challenged woman

They say dog is man’s best friend and always comes to the rescue of their owner. A dog in Tamil Nadu has proved this statement right.

Recently, a man who sexually assaulted a mentally challenged woman in her house was blocked and grabbed by the pet dog as he tried to fly from the spot.

The family of the victim called the police and the accused was arrested on Saturday (April 3). The 29-year-old accused has been identified as S Dhilipkumar, who works as a goldsmith.

Dhilipkumar went to the victim’s house in Selvauram in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. The 30-year-old victim was kept in a shed by her family members due to her poor mental state.

The accused came to the victim’s house at night and sexually assaulted her. He even filmed the gruesome act. When he tried to flee from the incident the pet dog noticed and chased him. The dog caught his pant tightly, making it impossible for him to move.

This alerted the victim’s family who noticed the shed’s lights have gone off. When they went inside to check, Dhilipkumar was caught.

The family then handed over the accused to the police. On searching him the police found the obscene videos he hd recorded on his phone.

Dhilipkumar has been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 376 (2) (e) (raping woman knowing her to be pregnant), 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and has been remanded to judicial custody. 

On further probing, it was found that the accused has visited the victim’s place and raped her twice.
