AICC general secretary Gehlot said an atmosphere of hatred, fear and violence prevailed in the country during the past four years of Modi rule.
On the day the Narendra Modi government completed four years, opposition Congress observed the occasion as ‘Vishwasghat Diwas’ (Betrayal Day).
Congress’s communication in-charge Randeep Surjewala and party leaders Ashok Gehlot and Ghulam Nabi Azad released an ‘India Betrayed’ report, detailing what it called the government’s failures.
“People now know Modi-Shah duo is harmful for the country. Four years of Modi govt can be defined in four terms -- treachery, trickery, lies & revenge,” Surjewala said.

Congress’s report hit out at the government’s ‘anti-farmer’ policies and farm distress and their flagship schemes such as Make in India, Smart Cities, Namami Gange, Amrut, Mudra Yojana and Startup India. It also sought to stress on the alleged corruption under chief ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje and Raman Singh in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, respectively.
