Patiala: 95-year-old woman found murdered with serious injury marks
Police said that they are also investigating whether the victim was raped before she was killed.
A 95-year-old woman was found murdered at Daun Kalan village, about 15km from here, in the wee hours on Monday.
Her body was found lying at her cot outside her house with serious injury marks on the head which might have been caused with sharp edged weapon, police said.
The blood stains were also found within 70-80 yards from where the body was found, Patiala SP Harvinder Singh Virk said.
Police suspected that the woman was first taken by assailants to a nearby field and then kept the body at the cot after killing her.
We are also investigating whether she was raped before she was killed, they said.
A case under section 302 of IPC has been registered in this regard at Sadar police station, police added.
The elderly woman used to sleep outside the house, they added.
