The three convicted - Nasir Khan, Ruman Khan and Sumit Bajaj in the controversial Park street rape case were sentenced to a term of 10 years by the city sessions court, Kolkata on Friday.

The judge, Chiranjib Bhattacharya pronounced the sentence in an in-camera announcement of the quantum of punishment.

The three had been pronounced guilty by the court on Thursday. However, the two main accused - Kader Khan and Mohammad Ali - are still absconding.

On February 5, 2012, Suzette Jordan was gang-raped by five people in a moving car. On March 13, 2015, she died of meningoencephalitis in a hospital in Kolkata.
