While inaugurating the first ride of the new buses, PTDC Managing Director Kabir Ahmed Khan said on Monday that the decision was made with a view to aid government's efforts aimed at maintaining friendly relations with India and to ensure that passengers can travel between Pakistan and India comfortably, reported The Express Tribune.

Khan said that the initiative was taken at the behest of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who had allocated special funds for the purpose.

On a hopeful note, he said that the introduction of new buses would help improve tourism between the two countries.
