BARDHAMAN/WEST BENGAL: Relations between India and Pakistan would improve if the neighbouring country destroyed terrorist camps in its territory and took steps to stop infiltration, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Saturday.

India has told Pakistan several times to destroy camps in its territory that harbour militants and to stop infiltration, he said.

Relations between the two countries would improve if action was taken in this regard, said Mukherjee, who assumed the external affairs portfolio this week.

Noting that India wanted to improve its relations with all its neighbours, Mukherjee expressed the hope that Pakistan would do the needful on fulfilling its commitments.

Referring to North Korea's nuclear test, he said discussions were continuing on the issue but it would not change India's foreign policy.
