Srikumar joined DRDO as a scientist in ADE, Bangalore, after a brief stint in HAL Aircraft Design Bureau. Srikumar made significant contributions in the fields of flight mechanics analysis, control, guidance & navigation, mission simulation and hardware-in-the loop simulation (HILS), an official statement said.
He was instrumental in establishing a PC-based HILS Facility for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle applications. In 2004 he initiated Project 'Nirbhay' for development of a Subsonic Cruise Vehicle, which had its successful maiden launch in March 2013.
