The announcement comes days after the Supreme Court has concluded the hearing in the politically sensitive Ram-Janmabhoomi case. RK Tiwari, chief secretary of the Uttar Pradesh government, announced the plans for the grand celebrations that are scheduled to take place from 24th to 26th October.
"Officials have taken stock of all the places where the celebrations are to take place. This will be historic as it will involve huge public participation", he said.
While three 3.21 lakh earthen lamps will be lit at Ram Paidi, 21,000 will be lit at Bharatkund. The rest of the diyas will be lit at various places across the religious city.
The three-day celebrations will witness cultural programs at Ram ki Paidi, Ramlila performance in the Ram Katha Park, and a religious procession from Saket College to Ram ki Paidi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present with his cabinet in Ayodhya on 26th October for Diwali celebrations. The Ram ki Paidi is expected to have flowing water this Diwali as the CM will inaugurate a new project for pumping the water into the ghat.
The government is considering to invite prominent personalities on the occasion. Last year, the first lady of South Korea, Kim Jung-Sook was invited as the chief guest.
