Terming ouster of tainted ministers by Mayawati as a poll time gimmick, Congress leader Digvijay Singh today said it would not produce the intended effect as the BSP chief had given them the "freedom to loot" during her entire tenure."BSP had given freedom to ministers to loot the state throughout Mayawati's regime. Now at the time of elections, she sacked and showed the exit to many, which is an election gimmick and people understand it", Singh said addressing an election rally here. The Congress general secretary alleged that in place of fodder Mayawati's elephant (her party symbol) ate currency notes and urged the people to vote for Congress for development of the state, which became backward in the past 22 years.
