Sanoj Yadav, a member of the party's state committee while weeping on camera, said Tej Pratap had slapped and abused him and asked the guards to throw him out of the house. "When I reached Laluji's residence on Friday afternoon, Tej Pratap saw me and asked how did I enter. He held me by my collar and slapped me, then asked the guard to shoot me," he said, recalling the sequence of events.

The RJD functionary claimed that party President Lalu Prasad Yadav was also witnessing this commotion but did not come to his aid despite repeated pleas. "I have served the party for over two decades and they are now calling me an agent of the RSS," Sanoj said.

However, the RJD sources said Sanoj had been suspended from the party on June 22 for misbehaviour and indiscipline. Sanoj was peeved at being denied a better position in the party and had indulged in a scuffle with state president Ramchandra Purbe, sources said.

A video of Sanoj arguing with Purbe at the party's state headquarters also surfaced on Saturday, in which Sanoj was seen threatening Purbe and telling him to remain within limits.

"Tej Pratap was angry with Sanoj for participating in a news debate on a TV channel as an RJD representative on Thursday evening despite being shown the doors the very same day. Later, deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad tweeted that he is not an official spokesperson of the party and asked the channel to apologise for airing his views as RJD's," the source said.
